Volunteering

The Welsh Assembly Government defines volunteering as follows:

“Volunteering is an important expression of citizenship and an essential component of democracy. It is the commitment of time and energy for the benefit of society and the community and can take many forms. It is undertaken freely and by choice, without concern for financial gain”.

Wales Council for Voluntary Action (WCVA) is the voice of the voluntary sector in Wales.  They represent and campaign for voluntary organisations, volunteers and communities. Their website is a great place to learn more about volunteering. Further information on volunteering can be found on the Volunteering Wales website

We recruit volunteers for several organisations, and is a great way of making new friends whilst benefiting the community. There are many different kinds of volunteering, from simple befriending, to helping with outdoor pursuits or manning telephones for organisations like Samaritians etc. Please contact us to find more about these and other opportunities, We advertise their vacancies in our window notice board and on the Wales Council for Voluntary Action (WCVA) website.
